Dr. Jim Coffey
Dr. Rachel Clement - Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Rachel Clement is a compassionate and skilled veterinarian with over 12 years of experience in veterinary emergency care. A proud graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, she began her career with a one-year rotating internship in Greensboro, NC, gaining invaluable hands-on experience across various specialties. After her internship, Dr.Clement moved to New Orleans, LA, where she honed her expertise in emergency veterinary medicine, offering care to animals in critical conditions.

With over a decade of experience in fast-paced emergency settings, Dr. Clement has developed a keen ability to manage high-pressure situations while providing exceptional care to her patients. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time nurturing her plants, running, and exploring new destinations through travel. Her passion for both animal care and adventure keeps her balanced and energized, whether at work or at play.

Elena
Kristyn Oliver - Practice Manager
Kristyn is a dedicated animal care professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a concentration in Zoology, from Ball State University. Originally from Chicago, she has lived in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Florida—all in pursuit of her passion for animal care—and now proudly calls Louisiana home. With over six years of experience as a zookeeper, Kristyn has worked hands-on with a diverse range of species, including lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, and many others. Her expertise spans animal behavior, enrichment, and welfare, and she’s committed to both high-quality animal care and public education.

Outside of work, Kristyn’s love for animals continues at home, where she cares for her five guinea pigs, rabbit, German Shepherd, husky, cat, and tortoise. She also enjoys expressing her creativity through crafting and unwinding with the latest binge-worthy TV shows. Deeply passionate about animals and community alike, Kristyn is always looking for ways to make a meaningful impact in the lives of both people and animals.

Elena
Elena Brand, RVT, CAET - Shift Lead
Elena Brand is a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who has been serving pets and their families with care and compassion since 2018. She earned her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Northshore Technical Community College in May 2018 and became licensed as an RVT later that year. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion from Southeastern Louisiana University, earned in 2015. In 2024, Elena became a Certified Animal Euthanasia Technician (CAET), further enhancing her ability to provide compassionate, humane end-of-life care when it’s needed most.

At LocalVet Urgent Care, Elena brings a wealth of experience and a calm, confident presence to every shift. She has a special interest in internal medicine, urgent/emergency care, and client education—believing that knowledge is a powerful tool for both prevention and healing. She’s especially passionate about creating space for clients to feel heard and supported, guiding them through difficult decisions with empathy and honesty.

Known for her big laugh, approachable nature, and team-focused mindset, Elena is a valued presence in the clinic. Whether she’s assisting with critical cases or educating pet parents, her goal is always to provide thoughtful, individualized care.

Outside of work, Elena enjoys reading, cooking up new recipes, discovering new restaurants with her husband George, and relaxing with her four beloved fur children—Leo, Benji, Fia, and Phoenix—usually while gaming or watching a great series.
